Why I Serve at Youth Group
Every Friday night I volunteer at my church’s youth group. This involves a few different jobs. I help with the general admin for the youth. I also help them track their quiet times and memory verses so that they can earn their scholarships for Word of Life Camp at the end of the year. On top of this, I lead a small group of girls whom I try and help apply the weekly lesson to their daily lives. I talk to teenagers and make a fool of myself, plan games or ice breakers. I just want to remind you that Jesus loves you more than you can begin to comprehend. Your worth is found in Him. He is shaping you and making you stronger (even if you feel weak right now). You are so valued by Him that He died for you while you were still His enemy and He made you His child. I also want to remind you to help others know they are loved and cherished. Where’s the Reset Button?
Do you ever wish that life came with a reset button? Even if it was just one. Like when you’re little you learn that everyone gets a reset, it’s useful for an up to six month redo allowing you to go back to exactly the same place you were six months ago; but with all the knowledge of living those six months already. I was just reading an article on The Gospel Coalition called The Perils of Falling for a ‘Fyre’-Style Faith. Personally I know nothing about the Fyre Festival or its documentary on Netflix.
